You are a bidding on an “haus concert”, an evening of music and conversation with nationally acclaimed clarinetist, Eric Schultz and pianist, Muriel Bennett Balzer. They will perform a recital and lead a discussion about each piece at your home, with you and your friends. No stage lights, no velvet ropes. Up close and personal. The way music was experienced before the large concert halls.

Muriel Bennett Balzer is a pianist and collaborative artist whose work bridges performance, scholarship, and public service. She has performed as a soloist and chamber musician across the United States and internationally, with appearances at Carnegie Hall and The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. A graduate of Peabody Conservatory of Music at Johns Hopkins University, she currently serves as a collaborative pianist at Coastal Carolina University. She previously completed a distinguished 30-year career with the National Security Agency.

Eric Schultz is an acclaimed American clarinetist known for his dynamic concerto performances and innovative collaborations with contemporary composers. He has premiered more than 50 new works written for him and performs internationally, with appearances ranging from orchestral stages to national broadcasts. Schultz is Associate Professor of Clarinet at Coastal Carolina University and an advocate for expanding and diversifying the modern clarinet repertoire.
